The Unanimous Declaration of the Thirteen United States of America

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved representative houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the legislative powers, incapable of annihilation, have returned to the people at large for their exercise; the state remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavored to prevent the population of these states; for that purpose obstructing the laws for naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migration hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands.

He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers.

He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislature.

He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation:

For protecting them, by mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states:

For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world:

In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in attention to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these colonies, solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states, they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do. hey goofballs, wake up: capitalism doesn't "kill" people

Two books for the America haters like Haruhi Suzumiya who recently commented on a November 26, 2011 post of mine about communism:  Haruhi thinks more people die under capitalism.

WHAT?  Hey HARUHI and others who think capitalism is "bad".

WAKE UP! Go learn TRUTH and HISTORY. 

To understand American history, start with The 5000 Year Leap or The Making of America.

To understand economics - try a little Milton Friedman Capitalism and Freedom or Free to Choose which one reviewer says "Free to Choose" (1980) is a great companion to Friedman's ten hour video presentation by the same name that appeared on PBS in the early eighties to rave reviews and some of the highest ratings in PBS history. The video series was extremely well done and taken right from this book. Friedman explains how and why markets work, why minimum wage statutes hurt instead of help unskilled labor (they price entry level or "training positions" out of the market) and why the Great Depression happened (protectionist tariffs like Smoot-Hawley devastating trade between nations was the primary reason).

Like Hayek and von Mises before him, Friedman explodes the Keynesian mythology that government spending is actually good for the economy. Moreover, this book is written for the layman. You don't need a PhD in economics or a Nobel Prize (both of which Professor Friedman has) to understand this work. It is clear, concise and cogently written.

If you want to understand why the market is ineluctable, this is a must read...and if you get the chance, I highly recommend the companion video series - some of the best work done on explaining why the free market works and planned/controlled economies fail.

It as timely today (despite the dated references) because the free market still works (it always will) and command/controlled economies always fail...this book tells why."

Hope this post can be the start of clearing your brain of some of the cobwebs of Leftist college teaching.  You have been indoctrinated by Leftism - I can tell.  Try to SNAP out of it.

stop self-traumatizing - make your own life happy

You can't force people to do stuff - unless you are holding a loaded weapon pointing at them and are actually prepared to shoot them.

You can't force people into therapy even if they demonstrate repeatedly or on numerous occasions therapy would really realllly help.

With that said, there are basic rules people must follow in any organized society.  The 10 commandments make the bible and Christianity very popular for a reason - they work and they help organize society - in a moral way.

The Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:2-17 NKJV)
1 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My Commandments.
3 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
4 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. OK - so yes, there are rules for living life - let's agree the above list is just the basics.

If you follow these rules, you can live a relatively happy life.  Right?  Well, wrong actually.  Why? 

Because for decades now, the Left has been training you to be stressed and traumatized - by:
EVERYTHING.

Rush Limbaugh discusses  this today.  He says "...Virtually every aspect of your daily life, there is trauma attached to every decision you make, because the people in this country -- the do-gooders, the leftists who want to control every decision that you make -- are using fear as a means of influencing the decisions that you make. The kind of car you buy could kill you. The kind of car you ride in could kill you. Your daily existence is destroying the planet. Your reliance on carbon-based fuels, your excessive lifestyle!"

"You are either causing other people to be poor, you are causing other people pain, you are causing other people poverty, or you are destroying the planet. I would maintain to you that if you pay attention to everything, you can't go through your day without being traumatized over every decision you make, because there's some liberal organization out there warning you about every facet of your life. The list of self-created traumas -- the kind of things I'm talking about the invented traumas to tell ourselves that lives are tough -- I think the list is endless. "

"But just stop and think: How often, before you even have some popcorn, do you worry about what it might mean to your health? Ask yourself: How often during the day do you worry about every decision you make, and then add your kids into it. Okay, you and your spouse get pregnant. Look at the trauma that you go through worrying about the health of the child during pregnancy, every decision you make could lead to permanent damage of your child in the womb. "

"I'm telling you, folks. The left in this country has created stress and piled stress on the top of it. They have created trauma with virtually every aspect of life, to the point that people are constraining themselves. They're not living carefree, happy, freedom-oriented lives. Everybody's allowing themselves to live under certain constraints. How about what you say? How many of you face stress or trauma every day in what you might say or want to say in a certain situation? " 

And what is the remedy?  Simple:

STOP LISTENING to LEFTIST INSANITY, LIES and their incessant Alinsky propaganda.

VOTE ALL LEFTISTS OUT from all offices wherever possible.  Let all their proven-bad ideas and progressive wonky ideas and policies wither and die.

Balance will eventually be restored - in the USA and - more importantly in your own life.  Stop creating your own trauma.  Create balance in your OWN life and you will be much happier.  Start by purging leftist ideas from your brain!  Live life as a moral person - follow the 10 commandments if you don't understand what a moral life is. 

YOU will be a MUCH happier person.

- kindness from parents who raised, loved me fully as their own child
- hard work, generosity from my father so his wife could stay home and raise 3 adopted daughters
- top notch public high school education at one of the best schools in the United States
- close and extended family members who weave fun, laughter and caring into my life
- blissful rhythyms of daily life shared with a kind, joyful best friend husband
- love from current, past domestic pets
- snowy Christmas eve dinners at dad's and frantic Christmas day meals at mom's
- hot, sunny summer camping trips to EAA Osh Kosh Wisconsin airshows
- ability to distinguish logic, truth from lies, propaganda
- problem finding skills, inner ambition and a fruitful software technology career
- appreciation of beauty in nature, animals
- indoor plumbing and electricity
- chemical engineers, business who provide cheap, reliable, safe medicine
- living in a modern western society and enjoying benefits of a multitude of glorious technological advances
- grocery stores
- worldwide travel, creating a lovely new home in NZ
- rational skills to tackle ups and downs of life: I've had WAY more ups than downs
- being myself
- capacity to learn
- freedom
- capitalism
- low taxes

Ran across a cool blog today called "Chicks on the Right".  A verrrrry cool blog. They say:

We embrace our own feminism, and leave the bra-burning and hairy armpits to the Gloria Steinem-ites. We love our country, and we adore our husbands and kids. We believe, actually, in the power of laughter and mockery to keep us grounded when the people in power threaten our sanity on a daily basis with their ridiculous shenanigans (and yes, Nancy Pelosi, we mean you.) We’ve noticed the demise of foundational values in this country – values such as hard work, personal responsibility, and the capitalist notion of less government interference. With the dawn of the Millenial-generation’s “everyone-including-my-country- owes-me” mentality and the media-driven deification of Obama in the last Presidential election, we started speaking out more and more about the looming socialist ideology that faced us – the “Harrison Bergeronification” of our country, if you will. And we couldn’t believe the backlash we received as a result. Apparently, people get really sensitive when you criticize liberal ideology. People become quite vicious, in fact, in their debates about various political figures, goings-on in Washington, and even good old American values as obvious as honoring the American flag. It was after a few of these lively discussions that we decided we needed to start a new site – one where we could freely mock and poke fun at the political process and all of its related people and parts, but also appeal to others like us – conservative, cool, and totally together women of today (and the men who love them) who just don’t buy into the media-espoused liberal philosophy that bigger government is the answer to every problem."

Bob Park interviews Jodi Carroll here.  She is a "regretful Obama voter" and says:
"Before, I didn’t really know subjects all that deeply, so being misled by the mainstream media was easy.

I didn’t start turning toward conservatives until I started turning away from liberals, realizing they were so dishonest. Once I started to really research more facts, I realized that, all this time, conservatives were the ones who were more honest and more educated about the facts. As I said earlier, it was really a political tsunami for me, it was painful and hard to go through. It is hard to believe that all the while you believed you were intelligent, yet allowed yourself to be grossly misled.

yes, Paul Revere warned both revolutionary and British soldiers



Sarah Palin's tour is doing its job - and raising awareness of American history.  She gave the press a brief answer this week about Paul Revere after a tour. She mentioned Revere also warning the British about revolutionaries waiting for them. She was factually correct.  Don't believe Sarah? Don't believe me? How about learning something and believing what Paul actually said in his personal deposition...from Revolutionary war and Beyond. His goal: to warn Adams and Hancock and the British were coming to try and confiscate arms:

"I, PAUL REVERE, of Boston, in the colony of the Massachusetts Bay in New England; of lawful age, do testify and say; that I was sent for by Dr. Joseph Warren, of said Boston, on the evening of the 18th of April, about 10 o'clock; when he desired me, "to go to Lexington, and inform Mr. Samuel Adams, and the Hon. John Hancock Esq. that there was a number of soldiers, composed of light troops, and grenadiers, marching to the bottom of the common, where there was a number of boats to receive them; it was supposed that they were going to Lexington, by the way of Cambridge River, to take them, or go to Concord, to destroy the colony stores."

As he had already warned revolutionaries up and down his route, when detained, he then warned the British:

"Sir, may I crave your name?" I answered "My name is Revere. "What" said he, "Paul Revere"? I answered "Yes." The others abused much; but he told me not to be afraid, no one should hurt me. I told him they would miss their aim. He said they should not, they were only waiting for some deserters they expected down the road. I told him I knew better, I knew what they were after; that I had alarmed the country all the way up, that their boats were caught aground, and I should have 500 men there soon. One of them said they had 1500 coming; he seemed surprised and rode off into the road, and informed them who took me, they came down immediately on a full gallop."

Finally, insofar as the bigger picture goes, Osama bin Laden was yesterday’s man. The global jihad rages on. The Muslim Brotherhood is far more dangerous than al-Qaeda in its ability to impose Islamic law over the Middle East and to assert it in the West. It has infiltrated the senior levels of our government in ways that al-Qaeda never could. Obama’s exclusive focus on al-Qaeda ignores all the other Islamic supremacist groups that are working around the world, and in the United States, right now. Oh, by the way, everyone is thanking George W. Bush for a successful manhunt leading to the USL killing, right? Didn't GWB coin the phrase the "war on terror"? The current commie-regime in Washington doesn't use that phrase any more - - officially!

AWR Hawkins points out "...George W. Bush deserves our gratitude for refusing to back down when the war was unpopular. He merits all the honor we can bestow upon him for not giving in when he was called every name in the book and openly slandered by MSM personalities. He is to be commended for standing with our troops when Democrats (like Obama) threatened to cut their funding, and for staying out of the limelight when our troops achieved great things (like capturing Saddam Hussein), because he wanted the troops to have the honor. (Obama, on the other hand, can’t wait to tell us what he authorized, decided, etc.)

Thank God for George W. Bush: the man who possessed the fortitude to make certain the people “who knocked [those] buildings down [have heard from] all of us [now].”

VDHanson - nope, no USA decline


America is joyful today after hearing Usama Bin Laden was finally killed. THANK YOU TO PRESIDENT BUSH and the USA military for their perseverance in tracking, finally locating this terrorist and putting him out of the world's misery.



Earlier today I read an uplifting article by Victor Davis Hanson. He points out America is NOT in "decline" even though people in Washington seem to want that to be the case.



They will all get voted out. America will recover and be all she can be... once again. From the VDH article:

"A recent report in The New Yorker suggested that the Obama’s administration’s weird sort of/sort of not foreign policy is now gleefully self-described as “leading from behind.” Not exercising leadership is a reflection, the article suggests, of Obama’s view that the U.S. is both disliked and in decline. Decline?"

"President Obama, listen carefully. By every benchmark, this should be an American century. Our known fossil fuel reserves are soaring, as new finds of coal, natural gas, oil, tar sands, and oil shale keep growing, not shrinking. Demographically, we are expanding; Europe, Japan, and China are shrinking.

We do not have the strikes of Europe, the violence of the Middle East, the state oppression of China. India has religious, social, and caste tensions unknown in the U.S. American farmland is the most productive in the world, its farmers the most gifted and innovative. We inherited a vast, developed infrastructure; out duty is to improve and expand it, not, as our ancestors had to, start from scratch building a Hoover Dam, intercontinental railroad, or port facilities in Oakland.

iPhones, Facebook, and Microsoft are culturally U.S. to the core; construction, computers, oil drilling, and refining are still American premier sciences. For all the talk of China, it would take the Chinese thirty years to acquire the expertise to launch and employ 10 effective carrier groups. To the degree an India or China is successful, it is because of emulation of the West, and the United States in particular. When I have my solo lunches in the new courtyard at the Stanford Business School, I stare at the number of foreigners networking in this global training station, where the world’s elites flock to shell out tens of thousands for the expertise and signature degree.

We see in the misadventure in Libya what the Europeans do without the U.S. military. Japan’s dense population and centralized mode of transportation, housing, and industry make it serially vulnerable to natural disasters in a way a dispersed, decentralized, and huge America is not. Our poor suffer far more from obesity than malnutrition; diabetes and clogged arteries, not scurvy and rickets, are the plagues of the underclass. Is driving a Kia that much less comfortable than a Mercedes, is hot water in Trump Towers hotter than a mile from my house in federally subsidized apartments? Does a middle seat on a 737 mean you are tortured and exploited while the “rich” zoom by in a Gulfstream? My local Wal-Mart parking lot yesterday in Selma — poorest section of one of the poorest counties in the most bankrupt state in America — had 3 BMWs, 3 Mercedes, 1 Jaguar, 2 Metros, 16 Camrys, 13 Accords, 21 newer double-cab pickups, and lots of late-model Civics, Nissans, and Kias among 82 cars. I counted them for this article; my statistically “poor” town did not look like Dickensian London. Wealth has been distributed to millions in a way once thought impossible. When did driving a Civic make you poor because someone else was driving a BMW, or why was living in a downtown Fresno condo unfair if someone else had one about the same size and with the same accoutrements in Santa Monica with a view of the ocean?

I could go on, so why does Mr. Obama see us in decline? Is it a wish rather than a descriptive assessment?"

origin of USA Republicans: anti slavery party



From PBS.org: "The Republican Party was officially formed in July 1854 in Jackson, Michigan when a group of men who belonged to various splinter parties met and adopted the name Republican. The name appealed to those who recalled Jeffersonian "republicanism" and generally placed the national interest above sectional interest and above states' rights. The party's founders totally opposed slavery. The platform adopted at the party's first national convention in 1856 rejected the Southern position that Congress had the right to recognize slavery in a territory. The Party maintained that Congress could abolish slavery in the territories and ought to do so."



OK, so quick, which party is full of "racists" now? Prove it.
