RIP Brit PM Maggie: conservative hero, courageous leader

Conservative ideas, principles and policies WORK.

Ronnie and Maggie, allies and friends

From DailyMail UK:

"Prime Minister David Cameron said she had a 'lion-hearted love of this country' and 'fought for Britain's interests all the way'.

'We've lost a great leader, a great Prime Minister and a great Briton', he said. 'There were people who said she couldn’t make it, who stood in her way, who said that a woman couldn’t lead, and she defied them all.

‘Margaret Thatcher took a country that was on its knees and made Britain stand tall again. She was the patriot prime minister. When people said Britain could not be great again, she proved them wrong.

'She didn't just lead our country, she saved our country, and I believe she'll go down as the greatest British peacetime prime minister.

'Her legacy will be the fact she served her country so well, she saved our country and that she showed immense courage in doing so.

'And people will be learning about what she did and her achievements in decades, probably centuries to come. That's her legacy but today we must also think of her family.'

Levin's inaugural suggestion: FIGHT

In a Ben Shapiro Breitbart interview, Mark Levin says on the "inaugural" day for the voting fraud re-selection of the fake usurper potus:  FIGHT

"I don’t think Obama knows exactly what he’s going to go for in his second term,” Levin said, "as he will look for opportunities to exploit as events unfold. I am sure they've drawn up a partial a list, and we already know that it includes, but is not limited to, gun control; attacks on the First Amendment such as religious liberty; amnesty for illegal aliens; union expansion; institutionalizing Obamacare; institutionalizing voter corruption; de-industrialization via the EPA; destroying the capitalist-based economy via tax increases, smothering regulations, massive deficit spending, and endless borrowing; and hollowing out our military; etc. This will effect all of us. It will do extreme damage to the nation in many respects. I think Obama sees himself as correcting historic wrongs in this country, as delivering the fruits of the labor of other people to people who he believes have historically been put upon. I think there’s a lot of perverse thinking that goes on in his mind, radical left-wing thinking. He was indoctrinated with Marx and Alinksy propaganda. You not only see it in his agenda but in his words -- class warfare; degrading successful people unless, of course, they help finance his elections, causes, and organizations; pretending to speak for the so-called middle class when, in fact, he is destroying their jobs, savings, and future. Obama's war on our society is intended to be an onslaught in which the system is overwhelmed.”

How to fight that agenda? Levin said the answer certainly doesn’t lie in the current Republican Party leadership. “I think the Republican Party, its apparatus, its so-called leadership, the parasitic consultants, represent an institution that is tired, old, almost decrepit, full of cowardice and vision-less. It has abandoned the Declaration of Independence and any serious defense of constitutional republicanism. The Democrat Party is now a radical 1960s party; it’s the anti-Constitution, anti-capitalism, anti-individual party. It largely controls the federal government, including the massive bureaucracy and much of the judiciary -- what I call the permanent branches of the federal government. The Democrat Party represents the federal government, and the federal government expands the power of the Democrat Party. They're appendages of each other. On the other hand, the GOP today stands for capitulation, timidity, delusion -- so mostly nothing. Republicans may speak of the Constitution, limited government, low taxes, etc., but what have they done about them? Next to nothing if not nothing. Even when Bush 43 was president and the Republicans controlled Congress. What did they do? They went on a spending binge. They expanded Medicare, the federal role in local education, drove up the debt, etc. Meanwhile, we are lectured by putative Republicans like Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Tom Ridge, and a conga line of others trashing often viciously NOT Obama and what the Democrats are doing to our nation, but conservatives, constitutionalists, and tea party activists who are the only people left standing for liberty against tyranny in this country."

But, said Levin, the answer isn’t to start a third party – “The problem is a practical one. If we go third party, I can see the Democrats winning elections for a generation. Given the radicalized character of that party, that would seal our fate, and the fate of our children and grandchildren to, as Reagan put it, 1000 years of darkness. The day may come, perhaps soon, when abandoning the GOP for a new party is the best way to deal with events and stop the rise of tyranny. I think the answer at this moment is for conservatives to retake the Republican Party. Reagan did it, and Reagan was opposed by the Republican establishment every step of the way, including the Bush family. But this is a constant fight, just as fighting the Democrats is a constant fight. After the Reagan presidency, Bush 41 and Bush 43, who'd opposed the Reagan Revolution, immediately dragged the nation back into the Republican mush. In fact, they sought to distance themselves from Reagan and his achievements, using such silly phrases as "a kinder and gentler" conservatism or "compassionate conservatism," as if all the opportunities, wealth, jobs, and enterprises Reagan's policies launched were neither kind nor compassionate. There is an intransigence in the Republican Party that sabotages and obstructs those who have answers for this nation based on our founding principles. And so we had a brief eight-year period where Reagan showed us the way and created a foundation on which future Republican presidents could build, and they haven’t. They invoke Reagan because he is beloved by the American people, but they reject his principles and policies. Keep in mind, George W. Bush was the most profligate spender in world history until Obama came along; the Tea Party grew out of the last months of Bush 43 and the early months of the Obama presidency. Yet Bush administration staffers are everywhere today: the media, advising candidates, leading fundraisers, etc. And they arrogantly and condescendingly lecture conservatives about responsible, moderate governance. They also cheerlead for more establishment candidates, like John McCain, Mitt Romney, and the like, who are not only sure losers, but have no grasp of the urgency of our times and the principled agenda necessary to address it. Meanwhile, the Reagan and traditional conservatives, the constitutionalists and the tea party leaders, are all but unheard and unseen on TV, even some of our favorite outlets."

some awesome Reagan truths

the awesome President Ronald Reagan
one of the BEST modern USA presidents

Years later and I STILL LOVE the wonderful Ronald Reagan; his presidency was AWESOME because he helped the USA recover from the horrors of the Carter mistake, helped end the cold war and restored patriotism in America. Times were really TOUGH and people were completely miserable under Carter.

There are still sad sack people who "hate" Ronald Reagan which I find ludicrously silly.  There is discussion on the web about "Reagan haters".  Get a grip and get some therapy...

lots of pix of Ronnie on various gorgeous horses,
riding isn't all that easy on feisty steeds - in fact it can be quite difficult!

From Phil Valentine Show 2004 Reagan Was Right:

"Now that Ronald Reagan has passed on, the sniping has already begun. One newspaper columnist wrote that he hoped Reagan was now turning “a toasty brown,” insinuating that the man who saved a wrecked economy, restored America's morale and brought down the Soviet Union might somehow be rotting in Hell. Another columnist's wrote, “Killer, coward, conman. Ronald Reagan, good-bye and good riddance.”

These sniveling little weenies are still hacked off that Reagan short-circuited their plans to turn this country into a socialist state, or worse. Reagan represented everything they aren't: hard-working, patriotic, proud, visionary, and believers in the entrepreneurial spirit and rugged individualism. These cowardly kooks turn a blind eye to the truth. Reagan's record stands on its own, despite the hateful, vitriolic criticism now spewing from society's underbelly.

In my book, Right From The Heart: The ABCs of Reality in America , I delineated conservative principles in alphabetical order. Only one person warranted an entire chapter. That person was Ronald Reagan. The title of chapter ‘R' was “Reagan was right.” Indeed, he was. Many people have forgotten just how bad off this country was prior to Reagan taking office. As I point out in the book, the inflation rate stood at 13.3 percent in 1979. When Reagan left office it was 4.4 percent. Remember how sky-high interest rates were? They were at 21 percent when he took office and had dropped to just 8 percent when he left.

Oh, but what about those deficits? Reagan gave us those, right? As a matter of fact, he did not. When you actually examine the record you'll find that Reagan submitted 8 budgets to Congress. All 8 were rejected. Only one of Reagan's budgets asked for more money than Congress ended up spending. That was in 1984 when Reagan's budget asked for 1.2 percent more. Pay attention to this part because it's real important. If Congress had adopted Reagan's budgets instead of their own, even including the 1984 budget, we would've seen a surplus in 1989.

That's not what the Reagan-haters want you to know but it's the truth. It's also true that his tax cuts, most of which he did get through Congress, jump-started the economy and we saw revenue to the treasury double during the 1980s from $517 billion to $1.031 trillion. These weren't tax cuts for the rich. They were across-the-board tax cuts. Naturally, the more you paid in taxes, the more you saved, but all taxpayers got a break and the economy came roaring back.

But even though revenues increased at a rate of nearly 100 percent during the ‘80s, spending, controlled by Congress, increased by about 112 percent. One of the real lessons of the Reagan years, which we've yet to learn, is don't outstrip the prosperity. That's what the state and federal governments did during the ‘80s and ‘90s."

just a quick ride with the queen... on some beautiful horses

There is a book by John Hayward which looks very interesting for more details on Reagan's presidency called Age of Reagan: The Conservative Counterrevolution, 1980-1989, description:

"Hero. It was a word most Americans weren’t using much in 1980. As they waited on gas and unemployment lines, as their enemies abroad grew ever more aggressive, and as one after another their leaders failed them, Americans began to believe the country’s greatness was fading.

Yet within two years the recession and gas shortage were over. Before the decade was out, the Cold War was won, the Berlin Wall came crashing down, and America was once more at the height of prosperity. And the nation had a new hero: Ronald Wilson Reagan.

Reagan’s greatness is today widely acknowledged, but his legacy is still misunderstood. Democrats accept the effectiveness of his foreign policy but ignore the success of his domestic programs; Republicans cheer his victories over liberalism while ignoring his bitter battles with his own party’s establishment; historians speak of his eloquence and charisma but gloss over his brilliance in policy and clarity of vision.

From Steven F. Hayward, the critically acclaimed author of The Age of Reagan: The Fall of the Old Liberal Order, comes the first complete, true story of this misunderstood, controversial, and deeply consequential presidency. Hayward pierces the myths and media narratives, masterfully documenting exactly what transpired behind the scenes during Reagan’s landmark presidency and revealing his real legacy.

What emerges is a compelling portrait of a man who arrived in office after thirty years of practical schooling in the ways of politics and power, possessing a clear vision of where he wanted to take the nation and a willingness to take firm charge of his own administration. His relentless drive to shrink government and lift the burdens of high taxation was born of a deep appreciation for the grander blessings of liberty. And it was this same outlook, extended to the world’s politically and economically enslaved nations, that shaped his foreign policy and lent his statecraft its great unifying power.

Over a decade in the making, and filled with fresh revelations, surprising insights, and an unerring eye for the telling detail, this provocative and authoritative book recalls a time when true leadership inspired a fallen nation to pick itself up, hold its head high, and take up the cause of freedom once again."

Ron jumps - this is good form, and very difficult to do
properly - just ask Christopher Reeve... oh, wait...

There have been many tributes to President Ronald Reagan besides detailed accounts of all facets of his presidency.  Did he make some mistakes?  Sure, but his love for America united the country.  That love for America NO LONGER EXISTS in Washington under the current communist-socialist-Marxist regime.  You voted for it so you will continue down the gurgler of statism until there is a REAL revolution.  (hint: probably why all those guns are being bought across America, so gird your loins!)  Open your mind, go back and really research the truths about Reagan when you need help trying to sort out what the hell happened to America under Commie-O: history will NOT be kind to the current commies...

Celebrate Reagan's wisdom, leadership, conservatism

Dan Riehl at Breitbart discusses Young America's Foundation:

"The thought of an homage to Reagan’s Ranch left me thinking about Sarah Palin’s recent travelogue from Alaska, which some in the establishment viewed as un-presidential. Somehow I doubt they would dare say the same thing about former President Reagan drawing strength from his ranch. It’s also worth noting how his Crawford ranch played such a significant role in the presidency of George Bush. The theme of a rugged outdoorsman, or perhaps one day a woman, and the American spirit, and even the presidency, goes all the way back to Teddy Roosevelt, if not further.

YAF has a section dedicated to the ranch at its website. There’s also a photo gallery and information on the documentary. A ranch as context for an optimistic America based upon rugged individualism, or self-reliance, stands in stark contrast to the current occupant of the White House, a community organizer, who perhaps sees America and Americans as more in need of help from the government, than able to go it alone with only a more genuine liberty as their companion. If there are two competing political Americas today, perhaps those two concepts embody them best.

Certainly, both views see some role for both charity and the strength of the individual. But which view is dominant within each of the competing ideologies, Left versus Right? The answer to that question may be obvious; however, which view America embraces in 2012 and going forward is open to question. The answer to that second question may determine the course of America for some time to come. Personally, I’d take life on a ranch, over that in some government housing project, or planned community any day of the week."

Reagan's speech on socialized medicine still relevant

The plans for socialized medicine continue by the Commie/Dems... it is still a huge crap sandwich.

Everyone besides Dems wants reforms. It was clear to me from various 25-Feb-2010 "summit" clips, Dems are the TRUE party of "NO". They don't want to listen to reason and only want to do it their way.

Ronald Reagan's speech below is still relevant and explains why socialized medicine is not good for the U.S.A.

I actually can't remember if I've already posted this clip before, but even if I have: its worth a second post because Obumbles and crew are STILL trying to ram the crap sandwich down America's throat.

G'dammit... the U.S.A. misses the wisdom of a real President like Reagan:

Missing Ronald Reagan and the 1980s

The man....
OK, I'll say it: damn, the 1980s was fun! Clothes with stunning unisex fashion, music like New Order and the Cure, dancing at a local pubs and learning to be an adult. At 18, I graduated high school in 1981 and proceeded to have an awesome decade.

The 80s had its share ups and downs for America, but the economy was on an upswing with supply side Reaganomics. In general, most people in Chicago and in my circles seemed quite happy with life.

As a young adult in the 80s, I started noticing a bit of what was going on in politics. Little stuff was happening such as the Star Wars defense systems or the Berlin wall coming down. However, I didn't really worry too much about politics or America's well being because I felt completely and utterly safe with president Ronald Reagan as the captain of our ship. America and the world I knew made sense. So amongst all the fun and news I did not watch on TV, I do remember the hub bub about the "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" speech in 1987. It was a good speech. 20 years later, via audio or video clips, President Reagan's words are eerily still relevant. His message still inspires and probably influenced me to become the strong conservative I am now. I have a friend I have known for many years. She is still on the liberal side of things, was happy BHO got elected and is now in the anti-Palin camp. She is obviously still watching the propaganda put out by the biased mainstream leftist American media. She has not opened her brain to reality yet and it is a real shame. She is, for the most part, unhappy with her life. I, on the other hand, appreciate everything I have.

The current 2009 regime of progressives/liberals want to forcibly implement "good" ideas for the collective which end up hurting people. One example of a good idea gone bad has been going on for decades: welfare. More and more people go on welfare, so the left expands welfare thus more people go on it. This was started back by FDRs programs. Analysts have stated FDR prolonged the depression...
How exactly does giving people hand outs incentivise them to get off the dole and back to living happy, independent lives rather than becoming dependent on said government hand outs?
Why do welfare mothers get more cash for more babies? The welfare cycles are getting worse not better. Star Parker has written a book about this called "moving back to Uncle Sam's plantation" and recently about health care and the push for "a government health care plantation". "Health care reform" contains more great ideas such as counseling to encourage euthanasia for the elderly and money to pay for illegal citizen's care.

Here are a few better ideas off the top of my head: If people are in the country illegally; ship them back to their country of origin. Use any additional funding to expand existing progams for the elderly care and veterans. Make abortions harder to get and expand adoption programs for people who actually desire kids. Don't give the welfare mother extra money for kids. If she has over 3 kids, give the 4th and 5th (etc) up for adoption. Create plans and training to give incentives to people to get off welfare.
I digress... so what do these ideas have to do with missing Reagan and the 80s? Nothing. Just a sidebar to give a glaring example of ongoing failures of progressivism. Life is not as simple to understand like it was in the 80s. It is way more complicated now.
Glenn Beck is worried about the whole government infrastructure. Today he states "I believe I now know exactly what they're doing. They are putting a structure in place, around our existing government. An exoskeleton is being built around our Republic. And rather than support and protect, as exoskeletons are designed do in the animal kingdom, this one is designed to feed off its host. At the same time, the host is being attacked from every direction, also by design. The attack agents are cap-and-trade; health care reform; card check; the collapsing dollar; bailouts; stimulus bills; "cash for clunkers"; gigantic, unsustainable debt, and on and on." Read the whole commentary here.

All of this information is starting to make my head explode as the 'one crisis after another' Alinsky concept is meant to. They want the public confused and in crisis to foist their regime onto them.

I would like to peronally know the answer to what is the "greatness" of "the one": why liberals? What specific policies make BHO the great president you think he is? Have you seen the unemployment figures? Is everyone you know much happier NOW compared to same time last year? How's the housing market in your area? Lots of jobs in your neck of the woods? Great progress in 6 months?

If you cannot think of direct benefits helping you personally, which policies help your town? How exactly? How about your county or your state? ...No? Can't think of any direct benefits? Then why is this presidency working for you?

Now I am off on too many tangents, but getting back to what I do miss about Reagan and the 80s: a complete sense of safety, security and prosperity of the American way of life. I personally feel safe and happy living in New Zealand, but I fear this way of life for Americans is being purposely flushed and a lot of young people who missed out on the 80s will not even know what they are missing...
Amazon still sells the "Preppy Hand Book" (funny)....

My sisters and I with our 1980s hair... ;)
