This is TOO funny not to share. Check out Dave Berry's wrap up of the zombie apocalyptic year that was 2013.
An excerpt:
"It was the Year of the Zombies. Not in the sense of most of humanity dying from a horrible plague and then reanimating as mindless flesh-eating ghouls. No, it was much worse than that. Because as bad as a zombie apocalypse would be, at least it wouldn’t involve the resurrection of Anthony Weiner’s most private part."
"We thought that thing was out of our lives forever, but suddenly there it was again, all over the Internet, as Weiner came back from the political grave like the phoenix, the mythical bird that arose from the ashes to run for mayor of New York and use the name “Carlos Danger” to text obscene photos of its privates to somebody named “Sydney Leathers.”
"We miss 2012."
"But getting back to the zombies: It wasn’t just people who came back alarmingly in 2013. The Cold War with Russia came back. Al-Qaeda came back. Turmoil in the Middle East came back. The debt ceiling came back. The major league baseball drug scandal came back. Dennis Rodman came back and went on humanitarian missions to North Korea (or maybe we just hallucinated that). The Endlessly Looming Government Shutdown came back. People lining up to buy iPhones to replace iPhones that they bought only minutes earlier came back."
"Were there any new trends in 2013? Yes, but they were not good. Kale, for example. Suddenly this year restaurants started putting kale into everything, despite the fact that it is an unappetizing form of plant life that until recently was used primarily for insulation. Even goats will not eat it. Goats, when presented with kale, are like, “No, thanks, we’ll just chew on used seat cushions.”
Another annoying 2013 trend was people who think it is clever to say “hashtag” in front of everything. Listen carefully, people who think this is clever: Hashtag shut up."
READ THE REST HERE... SOOOO funny...
#ShutUp all right!
Bye bye 2013, you were el stinko. Let's make 2014 a BETTER damn year... Shall we?!

Push back against Hollywood's "evil" soldier/veteran stereotype
Hollywood CONTINUALLY depicts USA soldiers, veterans as heartless cruel killers. Really?
They are FAR from it.
A recent example from Daily Mail UK features this guy:
I wouldn't tangle with this guy, would YOU?!?! He's a USA Army Special forces guy in Afghanistan - and sure looks like one tough mother-f**er.
When he was out on patrol, something caught his eye. If he was a heartless cruel killer like Hollywood pushes (constantly in LOTS of movies), he wouldn't have batted an eye when he saw what was happening. This is what he did instead: he RESCUED a helpless being.
A puppy.
With the help of donations and Nowzad (a British dog rescue org): the puppy (Yakkul) he rescued made it out of the hell hole of Afghanistan back home to Valatie, NY.
I'll be praying this brave warrior with a kind heart makes it home safely after his tour(s) finish.
... and Hollywood be damned.
More on the puppy rescue story here.

Suggested reading list for 2014
I haven't been blogging much last few months. I've been on Twitter and Facebook a lot, but just haven't felt much like writing. I'd like to write more and am making that a goal for 2014. I'd also like to read a bit more - about topics which interest me. Conservatism is one very important topic. I think Conservative principles will be the only saving path for America's restoration. Leftism must dwindle.
Here is a very interesting list of 10 best conservative columnists of 2013 by Dave Swindle at PJMedia.
Have you read anything by below authors? I plan to research and read more - looks like this is a good starting point:
10) Ross Douthat
9) Frank Gaffney
8) Daniel Pipes
7) Rich Lowry
6) Jonah Goldberg
5) Mark Steyn
4) Dennis Prager
3) Ben Shapiro
2) Thomas Sowell
1) Ann Coulter

Phil and Obummer: the wrong person was fired
As seen on the internet this week - after A&E suspends Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil after he expressed his personal opinion based on the bible's teachings:
Keep in mind:
Only 3% of the USA population is gay.
The other 97% tolerate them.
They do NOT tolerate homosexuality in ALL countries on earth.
how about Iran? - they are hung
or Uganda? - now illegal
Guess what Hollywood: USA is VERY TOLERANT of this behaviour.
STOP RAMMING GAYNESS DOWN OUR THROATS
... that is all ...

Oh, U heard Mandela was commie-murderer-terrorist, right?
Yes, let's trample on this a**hole's grave. What "good" did he do for S.Africa? It is STILL a shambles, isn't it?
Victoria Jackson has some details - like WHY was he in prison anyway?
"Nelson Mandela was the head of UmKhonto we Sizwe, (MK), the terrorist wing of the ANC and South African Communist Party. He had pleaded guilty to 156 acts of public violence including mobilizing terrorist bombing campaigns, which planted bombs in public places, including the Johannesburg railway station. Many innocent people, including women and children, were killed by Nelson Mandelas MK terrorists.
Invictus never mentions Nelson Mandelas open support for brutal communist regimes such as Fidel Castros Cuba, Robert Mugabes Zimbabwe, Red China, Gadhaffis Libya, Saddam Hussein, Yasar Arafat and other dictators. During the very time covered by Invictus Mandela received Fidel Castro, the longest reigning dictator in the world, and gave him the highest award that South Africa could give and then had both Houses of Parliament gather to hear an address from the Cuban tyrant.
The Ugly Reality
During the very time covered by the movie many hundreds of white farmers, and their wives and children, were being brutally murdered, actually tortured to death, often by UmKhonto we Sizwe guerillas, many of whom were now part of the South African National Defence Force.
Double Standards
Although Invictus gives all glory for the Springbok Rugby World Cup win to Nelson Mandela, it does not attach any blame to him for the rising crime and plummeting economy. During one short visual in the film Mandela looks at a newspaper headline which speaks of the rising crime and plummeting rand. This reality deserved a little bit more attention. During 46 years of National Party apartheid rule over 18,000 people had been killed by rioters, terrorists, by the police and the army, on all sides, including terrorists, civilian victims, military casualties and police. A total of 18,000 dead during 46 years of conflict. However, in peacetime, under Nelson Mandela, an average of 20,000 to 25,000 people were murdered every year."
Crikey
Cliff Kincaid at Trevor Loudon's site points out:
"Mandela’s backers are apparently hoping for short memories or none at all. To even mention the facts, which are out in the open, might open up journalists to the charge that Keller mentions in the Times—that of “red-baiting.”
Keller writes that Mandela’s “Communist affiliation” doesn’t “justify the gleeful red baiting, and it certainly does not diminish a heroic legacy…”
The U.S. media’s treatment of Mandela will go down in history on a par with the Times’ Walter Duranty praising Joseph Stalin and covering up his murder of millions of Ukrainians. The difference is that most of the bodies have not yet piled up in South Africa. And, after all, the victims will be mostly white."
Wonderful... just lovely, eh.
The praise of NM is sickening. COMMUNISM will ALWAYS STINK and NM smells of it.
If you want more, there are some SA sites trying to get the word out about white genocide - one I found yesterday estimates 10% of white population has been murdered. (WHAT?!???!!!!)
"kill whitie" what a wonderful legacy for NM.
Lastly, the videos on Victoria's site show a person who got AUDITED for 7 years after he met with NM requesting he didn't implement abortion.
TAX COLLECTOR has HARRASSER
Exactly what is going on in USA!!! So perhaps Obummer DID get inspiration from NM after all: on how to be a BETTER communist... OH WAIT - NM wrote a BOOK on that!
"One of the documents, in his own handwriting, handed in as evidence in trial was titled How to be a Good Communist, in which he states categorically that the transition from capitalism to socialism could not be brought about by the slow methods proposed by the liberals, but only by revolution. He further maintains that studying the Marxist philosophy is necessary to get firmer control over revolutionary mass action (struggle) and continues: “The Communist movement still faces powerful enemies which must be completely crushed and wiped from the face of the earth before a Communist world can be realised.” This view was later endorsed by every local communist. "
Indeed
