Free speech protected by law in NZ, too

Is that YOU "anonymous" ?!
A misguided "anonymous" person commented on my little blog. Mr/Mrs anonymous thinks free speech is not guaranteed in New Zealand.

Guess what, anonymous - you are WRONG.

For your education (if you want to learn something), here is the link to: "New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990, Public Act 1990 No 109, Date of assent 28 August 1990"

"13 Freedom of thought, conscience, and religion
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion, and belief, including the right to adopt and to hold opinions without interference.

14 Freedom of expression
Everyone has the right to freedom of expression, including the freedom to seek, receive, and impart information and opinions of any kind in any form."

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, pal...

& have a nice day

  1. Hmm, interesting, you seem to be suggesting that like the USA our called free speech is absolute, example, screaming out nigger when a off white politician was mentioned when your hero Palin was having a trailer park meeting.

Sadly for you, the race relations people tend to have some input into what is not on in NZ.

Oh, a question, do you believe your rantings about Maori are all accurate or did you make some of them as you went ?

  5. Opinions when stated as facts are what ?
Do you state opinions are just that ?

Now since I believe when big boys games are played the same rules should apply would it be right and proper of me to state on a billboard on the back of a trailer, in my opinion right wing visiting Americans are of the opinion that Maori should not be allowed to reside in the fine suburb of Titarangi.

You would have no problem with that opinion ?

You want to put up an anti-American billboard in Titirangi, go for it! You'll probably need council permission though. I can put in a good word for you as I know several staff personally who work there.

Or you could just read the NZ Herald. They have anti-American articles there quite often.

There are all sorts of anti-American sentiments here... too bad you're only 1 of 4 millions wee lil peeps down here.

Geez my home town of Chicago & surrounding area has over 9 million.

Chill out, anonymous... or write your own anti-American blog... perhaps you'll get some crazy commenters! I'm sure that would be great fun for you!

Unfortunately, you haven't persuaded me to agree with any of your opinions though... so sorry...

    cheers
