Rick Perry believes in open borders?! Flipping.great (not)

Oh ohhhhh, Texas Gov Rick Perry does NOT believe in building a wall to keep illegal people out? WHAAAAAT? Oh for pete's sake, is he really just a big government RINO/Democrat in an R suit?  Not sure this guy should be America's next POTUS... at all...

Mark America has more on this at C4P

"If you’re a Tea Party member, or you have significant sympathies with them, I’d caution you against climbing aboard Rick Perry’s TransTexasCatastrophe. The Media is doing everything possible to paint this guy as a bronc-busting, cattle-roping, Texan, but in truth, there are more than a few things you ought to know about him. He’s no friend to individual rights, except in an election season, and he’s not really the trend-setter he’d have you believe. His record on jobs isn’t actually so swift as he’d have you believe, and he’s got less in common with the average Texan than he does with the Wall Street types with whom he prefers to consort. He’s no friend of Main Street, and he’s certainly no friend to real entrepreneurs, and for all his posturing as one of us, he isn’t, and it’s been quite plain. Those of you from outside Texas can be forgiven for mistaking Perry for a conservative. It’s assumed because he’s a Republican, and he’s from Texas, he must be."

"Ladies and gentlemen, if you’ve fallen prey to the hype about Perry, you may be forgiven, particularly if you’re not from Texas. You’re not aware, as so many here, that Perry isn’t the fellow he’s now being portrayed to be. He’s not a friend to the Tea Party, despite his seeming 2010 conversion, because much like his conversion in 1989, this conversion also seems to be one of convenience. I will assure you, this is most definitely the case.

Perry likes to put on an act about his conservative credentials, and his sympathies with the Tea Party, but if the truth is told, he’s no more one of us than the man in the Moon. You might want to let your fellow conservatives and Tea Party patriots know it too: We’re being hustled again."

And about those jobs in Texas? Look at the information Rick Newman found at US News:
"...the numbers support Rick Perry when he claims that Texas has created more than one-third of the jobs in the United States since the economic recovery began in 2009.

There's an important caveat, however, that the Texas governor is unlikely to volunteer: Virtually all of those new jobs are in the government sector, not in private enterprise."

WHAT? Yep:

"Total jobs. Texas: Up 0.7 percent since the beginning of 2008. U.S: Down 5.6 percent. Since the recession began, Texas has added about 75,000 jobs, one of the few states with any job creation at all. Overall, the U.S. economy has lost about 5.6 million jobs since then. But net job gains in Texas have come entirely from government hiring, which accounts for 115,000 new jobs over the past three years. The private sector in Texas shed about 40,000 jobs during that time."

Read the stats here... The more I find out about Perry, the more I hope a real small government, conservative and NON RINO jumps in the potus race. Damn it, evidence is piling up pointing to Perry being another marxist RINO...  Can America afford that?  Saucy don't think so...

Goldberg: America's Green Quagmire

bog

The "green" war?  Huh?  Jonah Goldberg points out the nonsense in the Federal government's push for "green" jobs and equating it to war...yadda yadda:

"It’s difficult to catalogue all of the problems with this nonsense. For starters, the mission keeps changing. Is the green-energy revolution about energy independence? Or is it about fighting global warming? Or is it about jobs?

For most of the last few years, the White House and its supporters have been saying it’s about all three. But that’s never been true. If we wanted energy independence (and I’m not sure why we would) or if we wanted to reduce our dependence on Middle Eastern oil (a marginally better proposition, given that Canada and often Mexico supply the U.S. with more oil than Saudi Arabia), we would massively expand our domestic drilling for oil and gas and our use of coal or carbon-free nuclear. That would also create lots of jobs that can’t be exported (you can’t drill for American oil in China, but we can, and do, buy lots of Chinese-made solar panels).

As for the windfall in green jobs, that has always been a con job.

For instance, Barack Obama came into office insisting that Spain was beating the U.S. in the rush for green jobs. Never mind that in Spain — where unemployment is now at 21 percent — the green-jobs boom has been a bust."

"Green jobs, like shovel-ready jobs, proved a myth in no small part because President Obama is eager to talk as if this green stuff were the moral equivalent of war, but he’s not willing or able to do things a real war requires.

What we’re left with is not the moral equivalent of war but the moral equivalent of a quagmire. A very expensive quagmire."

Quagmire indeed, Mr. Goldberg... Read the rest here.

its the cosmic rays, stupid: CLOUDs break some warmist dams

Plasma from the sun

From Plasmas.org "Plasma is by far the most common form of matter. Plasma in the stars and in the tenuous space between them makes up over 99% of the visible universe and perhaps most of that which is not visible."

"Plasma temperatures and densities range from relatively cool and tenuous (like aurora) to very hot and dense (like the central core of a star)."

"Plasma consists of a collection of free moving electrons and ions - atoms that have lost electrons."

Artist sketch of dynamic sun, solar wind and earth's space plasma environment

the earth's magnetosphere protects it

From Science.nasa.gov: "A magnetosphere is that area of space, around a planet, that is controlled by the planet's magnetic field. The shape of the Earth's magnetosphere is the direct result of being blasted by solar wind. It prevents most of the particles from the Sun, carried in the solar wind, from hitting the Earth. The Sun and other planets have magnetospheres, but the Earth has the strongest one of all the rocky planets. The Earth's magnetosphere is a highly dynamic structure that responds dramatically to solar variations. Life on Earth developed and is sustained under the protection of this variable magnetosphere."

Aurora Borialis from space - pic from the Technonaut
The Aurora Borialis "actually the result of collisions between gaseous particles in the Earth's atmosphere with charged particles released from the sun's atmosphere. Variations in colour are due to the type of gas particles that are colliding. The most common auroral color, a pale yellowish-green, is produced by oxygen molecules located about 60 miles above the earth. Rare, all-red auroras are produced by high-altitude oxygen, at heights of up to 200 miles. Nitrogen produces blue or purplish-red aurora.

The connection between the Northern Lights and sunspot activity has been suspected since about 1880. "

From Absolute Astronomy "The flux (flow rate) of cosmic rays incident on the Earth’s upper atmosphere is modulated (varied) by two processes; the Sun’s solar wind and the Earth's magnetic field. The Solar wind is expanding magnetized plasma generated by the Sun, which has the effect of decelerating the incoming particles, as well as excluding some of the particles with energies below about 1 GeV. The amount of solar wind is not constant due to changes in solar activity, for instance over its regular eleven-year cycle. Hence the level of modulation varies in anticorrelation with solar activity. Also the Earth's magnetic field deflects some of the cosmic rays, giving rise to the observation that the intensity of cosmic radiation is dependent on latitude, longitude, and azimuth angle. The cosmic flux varies from eastern and western directions due to the polarity of the Earth's geomagnetic field and the positive charge dominance in primary cosmic rays. (This is called the "east-west effect"). The cosmic-ray intensity at the Equator is lower than at the poles as the geomagnetic cutoff value is greatest at the equator. This is because charged particles tend to move in the direction of field lines and not across them, so that they are concentrated in the polar regions (where field lines are closest together). This is the reason the auroras occur at the poles, since the field lines curve down towards the Earth’s surface there. Finally, the longitude dependence arises from the fact that the geomagnetic dipole axis is not parallel to the Earth's rotation axis."

Svenmarks Cosmic Ray Interaction Diagram

From Watts Up With That "Cosmic rays are energetic particles that originate in space and our sun and collide with particles as they zip through our atmosphere. While they come from all directions in space, and the origination of many of these cosmic rays is unknown, they has recently been shown that a larger percentage emanate from specific deep space sources. Cosmic rays were originally discovered because of the ionization they produce in our atmosphere."

cosmic rays... an interpretation

So what is all this about? New scientific results is what this is all about.  The CERN Experiment Confirms Cosmic Rays Influence Cloud Seeds.

From WUWT "The worldwide network neutron monitors that have since been established gather data that have shown there is a correlation between periodic solar activity and the earthly neutron count."

"Ground-based neutron monitors detect variations in the approximately 500 Mev to 20 GeV portion of the primary cosmic ray spectrum."

"The primary cosmic ray particles interact with the atmosphere and generate secondaries, some of which will reach the surface of the Earth."

So what does the CERN study reveal?  From WUWT "it appears that a non-visible light irradiance effect on Earth’s cloud seeds has been confirmed. The way it is posited to work is that the effect of cosmic rays (modulated by the sun’s magnetic variations which either allow more or deflect more cosmic rays) creates cloud condensation nuclei in the Earth’s atmosphere. With more condensation nuclei, more clouds form and vice-versa."

What does all this mean?  It means the global warmists’ dam breaks.

Nigel Calder explains in CERN experiment confirms cosmic ray action "Long-anticipated results of the CLOUD experiment at CERN in Geneva appear in tomorrow’s issue of the journal Nature (25 August). The Director General of CERN stirred controversy last month, by saying that the CLOUD team’s report should be politically correct about climate change. The implication was that they should on no account endorse the Danish heresy – Henrik Svensmark’s hypothesis that most of the global warming of the 20th Century can be explained by the reduction in cosmic rays due to livelier solar activity, resulting in less low cloud cover and warmer surface temperatures."

"Jasper Kirkby of CERN and his 62 co-authors, from 17 institutes in Europe and the USA, announce big effects of pions from an accelerator, which simulate the cosmic rays and ionize the air in the experimental chamber. The pions strongly promote the formation of clusters of sulphuric acid and water molecules – aerosols of the kind that may grow into cloud condensation nuclei on which cloud droplets form. What’s more, there’s a very important clarification of the chemistry involved."

“It’s the Sun, stupid!” The story isn’t really about a bunch of naughty Danish physicists. They are just spokesmen for the most luminous agent of climate change. As the Sun was what the warmists really wanted to tame with their dam, they couldn’t do it. And coming to the Danes’ aid, by briefly blasting away many cosmic rays with great puffs of gas, the Sun enabled the team to trace in detail the consequent reduction in cloud seeding and liquid water in clouds.

By the way, that research also disposes of a morsel of doubt in the new CLOUD paper, about whether the small specks made by cosmic rays really grow sufficiently to seed cloud droplets.

As knowledge accumulated behind their dam and threatened to overtop it, the warmists had one last course to lay. Paradoxically it was CLOUD. Long delays with this experiment to explore the microchemical mechanism of the Svensmark effect became the chief excuse for deferring any re-evaluation of the Sun’s role in climate change. When the microchemical mechanism was revealed prematurely by the SKY experiment in Copenhagen and published in 2006, the warmists said, “No particle accelerator? That won’t do! Wait for CLOUD.”

When the experiment in Aarhus confirmed the mechanism using a particle accelerator they said, “Oh that’s just the Danes again! Wait for CLOUD."

Well they’ve waited and their dam has failed them."

LET THE WATER OF TRUTH FLOW ... & destroy the AGW warmist religion of lies!

The Western Free Press says AGW is under attack by cosmic rays - a simple explanation: "Solar activity modulates the incidence of Cosmic Rays on Earth, and the Cosmic Rays affect cloud formation by providing more condensation nuclei on which water droplets grow. More clouds mean more reflected sunlight and a cooler earth."

Possible cosmic ray aerosol link explained - image from Physics World
Bishop Hill points out Physics World acknowledges "Henrik Svensmark of the National Space Institute in Copenhagen and colleagues hypothesize that the ions that are formed as (charged) cosmic rays pass through the atmosphere act as a kind of glue that makes it easier for molecules to stick together and form aerosols. This hypothesis has proved controversial* because it suggests a role for solar variation, as well as human emissions of greenhouse gases, in climate change – the idea being that the stronger the Sun's magnetic field, the more cosmic rays are deflected away from the Earth, resulting in the formation of fewer clouds and so a warmer Earth, with a weaker solar magnetism having the opposite effect."   (*why is that controversial?  ASK AL GORACLE...)

CERN says 'Climate models will need to be substantially revised'.  Well who is CERN anyway?

"CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Its business is fundamental physics, finding out what the Universe is made of and how it works. At CERN, the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments are used to study the basic constituents of matter — the fundamental particles. By studying what happens when these particles collide, physicists learn about the laws of Nature.

The instruments used at CERN are particle accelerators and detectors. Accelerators boost beams of particles to high energies before they are made to collide with each other or with stationary targets. Detectors observe and record the results of these collisions.

Founded in 1954, the CERN Laboratory sits astride the Franco–Swiss border near Geneva. It was one of Europe’s first joint ventures and now has 20 Member States."

From CERN's press release Geneva, 25 August 2011 the CLOUD experiment provides unprecedented insight into cloud formation "In a paper published in the journal Nature today, the CLOUD1 experiment at CERN2 has reported its first results. The CLOUD experiment has been designed to study the effect of cosmic rays on the formation of atmospheric aerosols - tiny liquid or solid particles suspended in the atmosphere - under controlled laboratory conditions. Atmospheric aerosols are thought to be responsible for a large fraction of the seeds that form cloud droplets. Understanding the process of aerosol formation is therefore important for understanding the climate.

The CLOUD results show that trace vapours assumed until now to account for aerosol formation in the lower atmosphere can explain only a tiny fraction of the observed atmospheric aerosol production. The results also show that ionisation from cosmic rays significantly enhances aerosol formation. Precise measurements such as these are important in achieving a quantitative understanding of cloud formation, and will contribute to a better assessment of the effects of clouds in climate models."

With real scientific results, I agree with the Western Free Press who point out
"...many scientists have been saying that there is more evidence for the sun’s role in climate change than for humans’ role." .
..  I agree and say emphatically - DUH!

want jobs USA states? easy, just do what Wisconsin did

Karin McQuillan at AT explains exactly how American can recover from the horrors of current Democratic stagnation, missteps, Obumbles regime marxist policies and specifically what each state can do to have growth and jobs... its easy - - > just elect conservative Republicans!

"It's not rocket science. Ordinary Republican ideas for job growth work in the real world. America has enormous economic muscle. We just need to get the 800 pound government gorilla off our back."

"Facts are hard to argue with," Governor Walker of Wisconsin declared in a Heritage interview earlier this month. In the three years before his election, the Democratic State legislature and Democratic governor presided over the loss of 150,000 jobs. In Walker's first six months in office, Wisconsin added a net of 39,000 jobs, including 14,000 in manufacturing. The remainder were in agriculture, tourism, biotech and medical technology.

In June, Walker earned boasting rights that half of the new jobs in the entire country -- a shocking and paltry 19,000 -- were created in his state. In the same month, Democrat Illinois next door lost 7,000 jobs. (For more on Illinois jobs, see this - ed.)

Not only did Wisconsin add private sector jobs, they trimmed government jobs by 3,000. Instead of leading to disaster, 12,500 private jobs were added, leading to the one month total of 9,500 net new jobs.

What changed for Wisconsin? Republican policies made the dramatic difference. In his first six months, Governor Walker and his Republican legislature passed tort reform and regulatory reform to create a legal system that fosters economic growth instead of suffocating it. They balanced the budget and cut taxes, including freezing property taxes. To encourage business expansion, they passed a manufacturing tax credit and capital gains tax credit.

The cuts were not at the expense of the health and senior services. The budget continues BadgerCare, Medical Assistance, and SeniorCare, and allocates an additional $1.2 billion into the state's Medicaid program. All new revenue in the next two years will go to the Department of Health Services.

The budget did cut $800 million in aid to local school districts. However, the Republicans freed school districts of onerous union requirements that expensive health insurance must be purchased through the union. School districts quickly turned to the competitive private insurance market and have saved as much as $700,000 a year. "

Sayet: go ahead... IMAGINE if Lennon's stupid song came true

unicorn  (SEE, they EXIST! I have a PHOTO!...)

From Evan Sayet, go ahead imagine...

"Let’s take John Lennon up on his offer. Let’s imagine what the world would be like with no countries, religions or a heaven or hell. Let’s imagine a world with no possessions and nothing important enough to be willing to kill to protect it or die to ensure its continuing. Let’s imagine Lennon’s world where all the people are living for nothing other than today."

"And what might the children who live be like? Well, it wouldn’t be surprising to find them vulgar, violent, illiterate and undisciplined, perhaps brandishing the latest technology (gifts from the folks who want to be their friends) gathering into mobs and doing as they please. Heaven and hell? Not their concern in Lennon’s world. The ire of their parents? Non-existent. The courts? Well, maybe (if they don’t get a Lennon-ite Liberal judge) but prison is tomorrow, that leather jacket feels good right now!
And just as Lennon’s world would see the end of civility it would see the end of profundity. The beautiful would be replaced by the titillating."

"Of course, we don’t have to imagine Lennon’s world. Half of America now lives it and is doing everything in their power to drag the rest of us down that sewer pipe with them. Millions are in debt. Millions have no savings. Our infrastructure is in ill-repair and our schools have gone from best to worst. Our teachers aren’t teaching, our parents aren’t parenting our children are illiterate, incompetent and lazy, taking to the streets in flash mobs, randomly pummeling and pillaging for the momentary pleasure. Out-of-wedlock birthrates are epidemic, abortions are commonplace and so are mothers with multiple “baby-daddies.” “It’s Hard Out Here For a Pimp” was chosen as the “best song” of the year by the glitterati at the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and The Vagina Monologues is one of the most celebrated plays of our lifetime. Broadway is littered with infantile productions and flushing toilets do now garner laughs on prime time TV. Welcome to Lennon’s world, it’s nothing like you imagined."

read the whole thing here ... Lennon's crappy song has come true ... sad, isn't it

some day the truth will be revealed about the illegal usurper

Bloomberg trying to ban PRAYER at 9/11 10 yr ceremonies

NY MAYOR BLOOMERG IS A SHARIA FINANCIER and an anti-American DOUCHEBAG

He "Bans Clergy From 9-11 Ceremony – Pushes Ground Zero Mosque"

Why would he do this?  Because he has lots of MONEY to lose... he MUST keep his Sharia finance pals happy!

From Feb 2011 Bloomberg launches Islamic Finance Platform (ISLM)

"Bloomberg Professional® service executives have announced the launch of a Bloomberg Islamic Finance Platform (ISLM), a solution for Shariah-compliant products and services.

Bloomberg also announced, in cooperation with the Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM), the launch of a Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) sukuk index to provide a benchmark for MYR sovereign sukuk investments.

"The Islamic marketplace is growing rapidly and there is high demand for a wide range of resources," Dan Doctoroff, President of Bloomberg L.P, said from Kuala Lumpur. "Bloomberg is delighted to increase its commitment to serve this dynamic market, where we have nearly 20 years of experience in reporting on Islamic financial news, in all regions and across multiple asset classes."

Gerard Francis, Bloomberg's Global Head of Emerging Markets and Islamic Finance, said: "Bloomberg's Islamic Finance Platform provides the most complete, customizable and innovative solution available today. ISLM has the broadest set of Islamic finance data, analytics and proprietary news, significantly increasing market transparency. ISLM will give investment professionals the edge they need to make informed decisions and meet the increasing demands of investors and regulators."
The new Bloomberg ISLM platform has resources for investing in fixed income, equities and money markets that comply with Shariah..."

Going back to Oct 2009:

"Bloggers have uncovered that on Oct 29, 2009 Bloomberg LLC, the financial software, data gathering and news giant, announced its entry into the Shariah Islamic Finance industry. It would add Dubai as its eighth and specialized Islamic finance hub from which to sell its computer information terminals. Other hubs include: London, Sao Paolo, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney.  The regional head of Bloomberg LLC’s Middle East and South Asia centers, Max Linnington stated in October 2009:

“Particularly since the meltdown of the western capitalist system, there has been an increasingly large focus on the virtues of Islamic finance. Today, there is no one single provider of information that caters to the Islamic finance market. So by Bloomberg being here, we are in the process of building out an Islamic finance product. We are very confident that we can build a product that meets the needs of the market right now.”

This Bloomberg LLC description of the value of Islamic Finance sounds an awful lot like the name of aglobal “conference”entitled “The Fall of Capitalism, and Rise of Islam”. conducted by Hizb-ut Tahrir,a terror group banned in over one dozen countries including Saudi Arabia.
The Bloomberg quote also sounds like aquote by Sheik Yusef al-Qawadari one of the pioneers of Islamic Finance and banned from entering the US in 1999 and UK in 2008:

“The collapse of the capitalist system, which is based on usury and securities rather than commodities in markets, shows us that it is undergoing a crisis and that our integrated Islamic philosophy, if properly understood and applied, can replace the Western capitalism.”

And since the Oct 2009 announcement, the Bloomberg LLC bet has paid off, particularly for Mayor Bloomberg who personally owns 85% of Bloomberg LLC.

“The region for us has seen explosive growth. For example, last year in the UAE, we grew our core business by 61 per cent. And already this year, we exceeded what we achieved in all of last year in the UAE. So we are selling a lot of Bloomberg terminals, basically.”

Dubai is the nexus between Eastern and Western markets, and the best location to jump into the fastest growing and most controversial financial market in the world today, known as Shariah Compliant Finance. In this market, investments must comply with the law of Iran and the Taliban: Shariah Islamic law. It seems unimaginable that Dubai banks with offices in western skyscrapers would have anything to do with Iran or the Taliban, until one learns that most of the funding for Sept 11th attacks were funneled through UAE banks, and the UAE is the third largest exporter of goods and services to Iran, behind China and Iraq. "

Chaplain Mychal Judge:  FIRST official victim of WTC Sept 11, 2001 attacks

From Telling the Stories that Matter: "On September 11, 2001, Mychal heard the shocking news that two passenger jetliners had been hijacked. When these civilian aircraft were turned and flown into the World Trade Center buildings he dropped what he was doing and rushed toward the site where hatred and death were unfolding. When he arrived he was stopped by the mayor Rudolph Giuliani and asked to pray for the victims of the attack, their families, and their city. Mychal wasn't content simply to sit back in prayer and, instead, he surged forward to live out his prayer and offer the sacrament of extreme unction (last rites) to the wounded and dying among the victims. Realizing that there was more work to be done, he entered the north tower and began praying over the rescuers who had set up a command post in the lobby. He offered prayers and assistance to the men and women escaping unexpected hatred and continued to offer the prayers of the Church and the last rites to those who were approaching death. Mychal had learned a life of giving and sacrifice supported by prayer and faith and in those last moments he was found pouring himself out for those whom he loved and for whom his Lord had died. When the collapse of the south tower began to rumble through the lobby, Mychal began repeating the prayer: "Jesus, please end this right now! God, please end this!" With this prayer on his lips, debris from the collapsing tower rushed into the north lobby and struck Mychal in the head. He died shortly thereafter and became the first official victim of the tragedy of September 11."

Seal Team 6 deaths: White House muslim appointee complicity?

Trevor Loudon, AJ of NoisyRoom.net & Arlen Williams, contributors: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton & Ann Barnhardt ask some very interesting questions about the recent helicopter take down causing the death of some Seal Team 6 members.

Is the White House complicit?  Is is TIME FOR AN INVESTIGATION?

Some of their questions:

Q: Why did Obama release the identity of SEAL Team Six as the specific team that took out Osama bin Laden? (Never before has a sitting U.S. President done this.)

Q: Did Obama’s appointees know, in advance, that members of SEAL Team Six would be in that chopper at that location when it was taken down by terrorists?

Q: Why were the SEALs in a standard Chinook chopper instead of the Boeing MG-47E/G (the ‘Darkhorse’ which is a SPECOPS Chinook used by SEAL Teams)?

Q: Who ordered the SEALs and SPECOPS troops to use the National Guard Chinook?

Q: After the SEALs and SPECOPS troops were murdered, why did Obama release that information to the public?
Their conclusions: It must be determined whether Obama’s actions and the people with whom he surrounds himself compromised our SEAL Team Six and SPECOPS troops. An investigation of President Obama and his administration must commence immediately.

Sharia law to be new constitution in Libya: more global Islamification

Is this the triumph Oblabla is so chipper and salivating about:  Libya made safe for Sharia?

Read the draft here at Heritage: Libyan Draft Constitution: Sharia is ‘Principal Source of Legislation’

No worries, right, its waaaaaaay over there in the middle east, doesn't affect you or me... or does it?  WAIT a minute... As mentioned, Texas schools including Islamic courses courtesy of Rick Perry and terrorist supporting pal Aga!

In Michigan USA is trying to prevent Sharia law from superceding state law and the USA constitution.

In Toronto, Canada allows creeping Sharia in school.

In May 2011, Starr Personnel found:

"The Center for Security Policy today released an in-depth study– Shariah Law and American State Courts: An Assessment of State Appellate Court Cases. The study evaluates 50 appellate court cases from 23 states that involve conflicts between Shariah (Islamic law) and American state law. The analysis finds that Shariah has been applied or formally recognized in state court decisions, in conflict with the Constitution and state public policy."
A coalition formed to stop creeping Sharia in the USA in 2008 found creeping Shariah FINANCIAL law being embraced (another reason why some say NY mayor Bloomberg was promoting the mosque at ground zero - to keep his shariah finance buddies happy):

"Incredibly, in recent days, the U.S. Treasury Department has begun embracing Shariah-Compliant Finance. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Robert Kimmitt has professed an interest in “studying the salient features of Islamic banking to ascertain how far it could be useful in fighting the ongoing world economic crisis.” According to a press report out of Saudi Arabia, he has declared that “experts in the Treasury Department are currently learning the important features of Islamic banking.”

To this end, the Treasury Department is hosting in its headquarters building on Thursday, November 6th a “seminar for the policy community” entitled “Islamic Finance 101.” This event is being co-sponsored – and, it would appear, orchestrated – to promote Shariah-Compliant Finance by one of America’s leading promoters of the industry: the Islamic Finance Project at Harvard Law School. Harvard has benefitted from the infusion of millions of dollars from a Wahhabi Saudi prince and his government. Such funds are evidently translating into its fealty to the Islamist agenda and the promotion of Shariah and SCF by Harvard professors such as Samuel Vogel (who will preside at the Treasury seminar).

It is especially alarming that the Treasury Department is now in a position to impose its submission to Shariah on the various financial institutions which it has bought in recent weeks or otherwise controls. With the nationalization of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, its purchase of – at last count – 17 banks and the enormous leverage associated with its $700 billion slush-fund, Treasury can be an irresistible force should it actively promote Shariah-Compliant Finance. The fact that Assistant Treasury Secretary Neel Kashkari, the official charged with administering that slush fund, is the host of “Islamic Finance 101″ certainly looks like active promotion of Shariah-Compliant Finance."

So what is the point?  Even in the UK: THOUSANDS of young girls have been mutilated (clitorectomies! just wonderful...) all in the name of Islam and Shariah law - the UK has allowed this horror to CREEP on IN... the point is NICE KNOWING YOU EUROPE... you are being Islamified... & so is Canada and the USA

HEY COMMON SENSE, ALL OF THIS IS WHY ISLAM CLASSES IN TEXAS ARE A BAD IDEA... it is complete and utter SHITE...

critical of everyone

critical thinking... can you do it?

"Critical thinking is a set of reasoning strategies that keep us from believing everything we read or hear. In an age where more and more information is being created and communicated, we need critical thinking tools to keep us from absorbing every statement as truth or fact and, obviously, to help us find the information that we can trust. "
Do you have critical thinking skills?  How can you tell?  Here's one link to get you started on Learning the Art of Critical Thinking

I am critical about a lot... especially America politics.

I would favor a Sarah Palin candidacy if she runs.  Is she a perfect candidate?  No.  Does she deserve any criticism?  Sure.  She was just on Greta's show on Fox promoting long time big government incumbent Orrin Hatch as a TEA party politician.  Huh?  Michelle Malkin points out the hypocrisy in that(Is Michelle Malkin perfect in all her commentary every single time?  No.)

Sarah, unfortunately, also supported John McCain's 2010 reelection campaign in Arizona.  *sigh*  I know she had to.  He selected her to run in 2008 as his VP.  Sadly, McCain was the Republican beltway nominee and is a typical big government RINO. He is really not worthy of Sarah's further support - most recently he tried to disparage TEA party Americans calling them 'hobbits' as he scolded them in the debt ceiling arguments. (psst, John McCain, the hobbits SAVE the day, right?!... sheesh, you made a mistake to keep him in office Arizona...) I do not support the blustering McCain at all. I do support Sarah but am still critical of some of her actions or positions.  Noone is perfect, but politicians need to be held accountable.

So, the 2012 Republican primaries are just getting started... there is over a YEAR for Americans to decide who they want to vote for president, right?  In this day and age of instant technology, a couple months should be sufficient.

I am critical of Rick Perry's promotion of school programs to teach Islam.  Geez, America  children doesn't need to be proselytized - especially in public schools.  Teach them real history.  Saudi money is already having history rewritten in text books at some colleges.  Now, apparently, in Texas - you can learn the fake history about Islam in school even before college.  Huh?  I don't like it.

I am critical Michelle Bachman hasn't really ever run or governed anything.  She lacks experience.  Obumble's inept experience includes community organizing and towing the far leftist line.  How is that working out for America?  Badly.  (Don't get me started on Newt...)

I'm critical of all politicians.  Most of them say whatever the group who they happen to be addressing want to hear. It is the rare politician who sticks to his or her ideals.

I come to conclusions on my own. I try to use critical thinking, yet I am open to change my mind.  I'm critical of my own conclusions.

I think the Libertarian view point is interesting but falls down on many fronts. Libertarian John Stossel's view on most things is spot on and terrific, but he's also wrong on occasion (like on illegal immigrants - or on DDT). Everyone is wrong sometimes.  It is the nature of human beings to make mistakes.

Believability for me includes: does the person has a moral compass?  It is important.  Many on the left are sorely lacking one.  They do whatever feels good 'right now' justifying whatever ill or immoral behavior they are doing.  Example: Bill Clinton.  bad moral compass - lies a lot and cheats on this wife often - thus not believable.

My parents and being raised Catholic taught me the building blocks of morality.  The left has been pushing immoral beliefs onto the American public for decades.  Morality holds society together.  With no morals, there will be no society.  When I say morals I mean the basic human tenets of behavior found in most religions and belief systems.  Lets take a quick look at the Jewish and Hebrew ten commandments:
1. I am the Lord your G-d who has taken you out of the land of Egypt.
2. You shall have no other gods but me.
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your G-d in vain.
4. You shall remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy.
5. Honor your mother and father.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness.
10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.

Most moral people follow the majority of these beliefs.  Do you?  Which ones?

If you go to church, but you are an adulterer or commit murder, are you still a moral person?  (no)

If you don't go to church or are agnostic, atheist even - but follow all the others on the list, is this sufficient to say you are a moral person?  (yes)

Is the death penalty immoral?  (no)  ... an "eye for an eye" (justice!) is in the bible

I believe basic morality is something the left is trying to remove completely from America. This means removing America's Christian-Judeo foundation.  Where am I wrong in this conclusion?  Give me your critique.  Note: critical thinking skills is not name calling.

Most politicians do not have your best interest in mind, just their own pursuit of power and money.  But guess what, they deserve all justified criticism.  They are, after all, entrusted to their positions and are being paid... by you.

Texas schools teaching kids how lovely and nice Islam is

Here ya go, Texas...  Thanks to potus wannabe Rick Perry, specific details, yes from Pamela Geller, about how they now teach Texas kids about the wonders of Islam!   This sure sounds bad to me...  America doesn't need more teaching false history of Islam in schools.  This is lying.  This is taqiyya.
From the San Antonio Independent School District site:

"What is the Muslim Histories and Culture Project (MHCP)? "

"The Muslim Histories and Cultures Project was born out of discussions between His Highness The Aga Khan and Texas Governor Rick Perry during the Summer 2002, when The Aga Khan was in Houston for the dedication of a new Ismaili Center. Both His Highness and Governor Perry agreed on the need for Texans to have a greater understanding of Islamic culture, and subsequently brought UT-Austin President Larry Faulkner into the discussions. Located in the state capital, Faulkner’s campus is well positioned to accomplish these goals. A series of meetings followed, with the project ultimately finding a home in UT-Austin’s College of Liberal Arts, under the guidance of Dean Richard W. Lariviere, in association with UT Liberal Arts (UT-LA), the college’s teacher preparation program.

In April 2004, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and UT-Austin finalized a grant proposal that created the partnership that became known as the Muslim Histories and Cultures Program (MHC). Much has happened since the inception of the partnership. Creation and implementation of a model was of prime importance. MHC recruited and directly trained 80 teachers affecting approximately 15,150 students of World History and World Geography in ten key Texas districts during the two sessions conducted in 2005 and 2006. The purpose is two-fold 1) to fulfill Governor Rick Perry's desire to better educate Texas teachers on Muslim topics and 2) to train teachers to use a cultural lens approach to understanding other cultures. Governor Perry was instrumental in getting this program off the ground.

The curriculum for this project was developed at Harvard University and modified at the University of Texas at Austin.

The responsibilities of the participants are:
- to attend the 10 seminars and complete the assigned readings.
- to attend the January, April, and June meetings in Austin.
- to create lessons concerning Islamic topics with a “cultural lens” approach tied to their grade level to share with other teachers.

Dave writes to Pam about this:  "Session 1: Sources of Tradition"

"Abstract: ... "The readings from Following Muhammad also examine the Sources of the Islamic tradition, providing a brief overview of the crucial role that Muhammad as Prophet of Islam and the Qur’an, as scripture of Islam, play in defining Muslim religious, social and political consciousness. We will explore each of these sources in greater detail in Sessions Two, Three and Four. The second set of readings, from Historical Atlas of Islam, after a brief summary of foundational beliefs and practices, survey the historical expansion of Arab Muslim imperial rule beyond the Arabian peninsula, covering the period between 600 to 1100 CE. Maps illustrate how the Islamic faith began in the Arabic world but spread to other areas where local culture, geography, language and ethnicity influenced beliefs and practices. The establishment of Arab rule in the Middle East led to the development of trade routes that were controlled by Muslim merchants, bringing in much wealth to the rapidly growing empires. With political and economic expansion, the Arabic language evolved into an international language of administration, culture, learning and commerce. As Arab power extended over more areas in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region, non Arab traditions, particularly the Persian and the Greco-Roman, were integrated. The result was a cosmopolitan civilization in which Arabic culture played an important part but in which also participated many different ethnic and religious groups. The historical survey concludes with a brief discussion of the Crusades and the attempts by knights from the Christian kingdoms of the Latin West (including England, Scandinavia, Germany, Italy and France) to wrest political control of the Holy Land from Muslim rulers, damaging the positive relations that had previously existed between Muslims and Eastern Orthodox Christians in the Middle East." ...

Say what.....HUH???  I call bullshite... This is just re-writing history to show Islam as good guys! (barf)

American schools should teach AMERICAN history. Teach kids real history.  Teach kids what jihad is.  America needs to FIGHT ISLAM not teach it in false light

Mohammed was evil.  He was a pedophile.  He was pillager and murderer.

Islam needs to be stopped not taught in schools.  It is not a "religion", it is an evil ideology.  Flipping heck, teaching "peaceful" Islam in public schools Texas...? The one thing Islam ISN'T is peaceful.

This ain't cool ...  WHAT SAY YOU TEXAS? ... Perry still your guy?

as 2012 approaches, WHO is the real enemy?

answer: ALL DEMOCRATS and RINOs

It was the same in 2010, too... America rose up making 2010 elections an HISTORIC sweep: Republican and TEA party Republicans were voted into power across the states and Rs took control of the House of Representatives.

This is a war people.
2012 will be an election to save America.

We may quibble amongst ourselves about who will be the best candidate as the Republican primaries continue.  Do we really need MORE than a year, in this day and age of instant world wide information on the internet to properly vet candidates? Nope.

I've already vetted my candidate ... she just hasn't announced she's running yet. I sure hope she does.  Great video about Sarah Palin from 2009 ... still relevant.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY... it is the left and leftist media minions... DON'T forget it...

First since 1939: it snowed in Auckland this week

MAGNOLIA tree blooms THIS week in my yard... noone told them we'd be getting a bit of SNOW!
It hasn't snowed in downtown Auckland since 1939.  Snowfall made the evening news 15-Aug-11 as did the storms which dumped a lot of snow around New Zealand this week.  I'm having deja vu of the last couple of winters here... we've had a couple of mini frosts with wee bit of ice on car windshields overnite, but snow?!  Cue the video evidence:

LOL... cute video of the amazement of snow.  If you've lived in Auckland your whole life, you may have NEVER experienced it before.  Aucklanders can learn to ski INSIDE at "Snow Planet".  (yes, go inside to see the snow... hilarious, isn't it?!...)

Stuff posted a few pictures of Kiwis around NZ enjoying the snow this week.  Today's "short forcast" for NZ?
"POLAR OUTBREAK CONTINUES WITH FURTHER WARNINGS OF HEAVY SNOW."

Cue ominous music - dumm dummm dummmmmm...   NZ doesn't really get "big" snow, but I can tell you since standard NZ homes do NOT have any type of furnaces whatsoever, it does get DARN cold inside.  Last night was 4C overnight... (Have I mentioned the invention of the electric blanket is great?)...

Ok here's another "amazing" video of the HUGE Auckland snow (tee hee):

I wonder if New Zealanders still think "global warming" is occuring?!  (OPEN YOUR EYES KIWIS.. .IT AIN'T GETTING ANY WARMER!)
