If leftists silence "evil rhetoric", they'll silence themselves

A whacked out leftist and probably schizophrenic lunatic in Tuscon Arizona goes on a shooting spree killing 6: including a 9 year old and a conservative federal judge. Some 14 are also seriously injured. What a loony. He should have been in an institution and not walking around aiming a gun at innocents.

For those blaming "the right", that is BEFORE America really knew T.E.A. parties or Sarah Palin existed.

Question: if this sheriff knew this guy was mentally disturbed and threatening public figures, how did Loughner get a gun? There have been other mental people who got guns like Laurie Dann in Winnetka, Illinois. Isn't there a background check to prevent demented lunatics from purchasing weaponry? Shouldn't these crazy people be on medications or institutionalized?

Best run down showing the clear recent history of documented leftist hate 2000-2010 from Michelle Malkin.

The left's hate continues... and continues... again and again and again...
"The media and democrats want us to focus on the nation’s “caustic political climate” after the tragedy yesterday. Maybe they should start with President Obama. He may be the worst offender."

** Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”
** Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
** Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
** Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
** Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
** Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
** Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
** Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
** Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”
Some of these leftists might seriously need help... institutional kind of help.

  1. Well, if you make it real easy for the mentally ill to get hold of fire arms this is the price a society pays.

  2. good point anonymous... the USA can specifically thank the liberals and homeless advocates from the 1970s who promoted legislation which requires court order to commit a crazy person into an institution. The family can't do it unless court agrees. Everyone has rights, however, the pendulum has gone too far to favor/allow "rights" of crazy homeless people who NEED help... but instead just live on the street mumbling to themselves... and sometimes get guns and to heinous acts.

These laws from the 70s should be re-looked at so lunatics, schizophrenics who are truly menaces to society can be locked up if their care giver thinks its best.

  3. Funnily enough I do not blame firearm ownership as ours is probably higher on a per capita basis when it comes to rifles.

But civilians need assault rifles for what ? is their aim so bad that they need a weapon with full auto function and and a thirty round mag for deer hunting ?
The second amendment, interesting it seems to make all infantry weapons legal to civilians including mortars with a tonne of HE bombs stored in the basement.
A fuse malfunction would be interesting for the homeowner and neighbors.

  4. There are limits to what civilians can own legally in the USA. Perhaps the assault rifles make a good deterrent for home protection.

The statistics show U.S. states which have legal carry laws or conceal/carry laws have LOWER crime rates.

    ... so there is that

  5. USA - NZ: Different countries and histories yet many similarities, with firearms being one of them.
I recall in 1989 my mate bought a chinese import AK47 on his standard firearms license from the importer who was a motorcycle dealer!.
All legal then but in 1990 we had the Aramoana murders and the laws were changed.
We have had our shooting tragedies here too by young men with that SAME profile.

  6. Lisa G,

Great comments to your commenters here. I would have them read the Federalist Papers and the writings of Washington, Franklin, and Jefferson to understand WHY the 2d AM was written AFTER the 1st AM. It protects our most precious freedom, the freedom to stand up and say, "NO I WON'T!" w/o fear.
