potus candidate Perry fine and dandy with Sharia?!

Pamela Geller has an article at AT highlighting Texas Gov. Rick Perry's associations with some pro-Sharia law individuals.  Pam says "Rick Perry must not be the Republican nominee. Rick Perry must not be President."  A bit from her article:

"He (Perry) is a friend of the Aga Khan, the multimillionaire head of the Ismailis, a Shi'ite sect of Islam that today proclaims its nonviolence but in ages past was the sect that gave rise to the Assassins. Perry has concluded at least two cooperation agreements between the state of Texas and the Ismailis, including a comprehensive program to feed children in Texas public schools and taqiyya nonsense about how Islam is a religion of peace. Another agreement stipulates that Texas officials will work with the Ismailis in the "fields of education, health sciences, natural disaster preparedness and recovery, culture and the environment." Perry let on that this was all about whitewashing Islam's bloody historical and modern-day record: "traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom."

It gets worse. Last March, Perry gave a speech in Dallas in the company of Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform. Norquist was close to George W. Bush, and Perry's anti-tax, anti-Big Government rhetoric sounds like it's right out of Norquist's playbook. But there is a dark side to Norquist as well: Norquist's ties to Islamic supremacists and jihadists have been known for years. He and his Palestinian wife, Samah Alrayyes -- who was director of communications for his Islamic Free Market Institute until they married in 2005 -- are very active in "Muslim outreach." Six weeks after 9/11, The New Republic ran an exposé explaining how Norquist arranged for George W. Bush to meet with fifteen Islamic supremacists at the White House on September 26, 2001 -- to show how Muslims rejected terrorism.

The only problem was that the ones with Bush didn't. To Bush's left sat Dr. Yahya Basha, president of the American Muslim Council, an organization whose leaders have repeatedly called Hamas "freedom fighters."  Read the rest of Pam's article here.

Geepers... if Perry wants to coddle and appease Islamists who push Sharia, then I agree with Pam, Perry should not be POTUS.  Islam is at WAR with America.  Has that stopped? ...NO IT HASN'T!

  1. Lisa,
Check the comments on AT. Pam my have jumped the shark on this one... just sayin.

We need to check him out before we jump to conclusions. If this is true then we need to kick him to the curb, if not then we need to give him our support.

I like Cain, Bachman, Santorum but I think Perry can beat Obama.

Since you moderate like I do because of the trolls you can turn-off the alphabet verification. Just a suggestion. XO :)

  3. I don't necessarily hold to the AT's opinion or Geller's. They are pointing to Perry backing Gore, in 1988! AT is staffed by a lot of GOP elitists.

Perry executes mexicans on death row in spite of the Mexs whining to Obama and in spite of Obama! You really think he would coddle islamoscum, especially after Major Hasan and Ft Hood?

  4. good points Hardnox and Gunny... even Ronald Reagan was originally a Democrat then changed his views... thanks for the comments...

I'm more pro Perry than anti at this point in the game... I think its good Perry followed Texas law with enforcing the death penalty... people don't like, they can move to a different state or petition to change the law...

cheers guys from a first time since 1939 snow this week in Auckland! brrrrr... its cold

  5. Lisa,

One thing he DOES need to do and I called his office on it, is to come out AGAINST Amnesty.

THAT is a deal breaker for me.

  6. Lisa,

I think that Hardnox and I agreed to a "Two-Click Rule." If you can prove something is BS in two clicks then you don't give that rumor legs. One of the first things that I did was go to Aga Khan's website - something that I don't think Geller did. http://www.akdn.org/about.asp

Then I researched Aga Khan himself - I had to laugh - his stepmother was actress Rita Hayworth for crying-out-loud.

I have some problems myself with whether or not there is such a thing as a "Good Muslim" - but I think Aga Khan might be one even if some of his relatives 1200 years ago were assassins.

Geller let her passion overload her brain on this one. There are some very fine people out there who happen also to be Muslim - check out Doctor M. Zuhdi Jasser: http://www.aifdemocracy.org/about/members.php

Townhall did a silly piece on that as well. I think that we have to be careful.

My opinion for what it's worth.

  7. thanks Gunny, agree about amnesty being VERY important... but I think illegals should be given a choice: start the path to American citizenship, register, get a SS# legally, greencard, etc - so they can work legally AND pay TAXES like everyone friggin' else who lives in America legally.... - OR - move back to Mexico...

I have NO problemo with Mexican people in the USA legally whatsoever... my inlaws are from Peru, they came up legally so spanish blood is in my family - love it... but ILLEGAL is not a race - they should not be employed or given ANY free services! Just a) path to citizenship or b) bus ticket home (or something)

hi Common Snse, I'm still not quite sure how Perry feels about Islam as a threat to America. I've read he is pro-Israel and has a record to prove it... so there's that...

I have a HUGE problem with the covert behavior of muslims in America who want the horror that is Sharia.

The United States Constitution is SUPPOSED to be the supreme law... not ANYTHING ISLAMIC

... They want sharia and islam, GO LIVE IN AN ISLAMIST COUNTRY.... they are friggin' pedophile evil heathens

  8. Lisa,

I agree - but as you will find if you visit either of the sites I provided - there are Muslim groups that are not pushing Sharia. The one that was mentioned in the Perry hit pieces is one. The "Aga Khan Development Fund" when asked if they are a religious organization responds: "No. The work of the AKDN is underpinned by the ethical principles of Islam – particularly consultation, solidarity with those less fortunate, self-reliance and human dignity "

Pinning radical Islam on AKDN would be like claiming the Red Cross is a "radical" Christian organization.

I actually find this humorous that I am placed in the position of defending an organization of Muslims. LOL - a week ago I was advocating for an openly Christian President who prays:

    http://conservinexile.blogspot.com/2011/08/please-give-me-president-who-prays.html

    That is still my position.

  9. hi Common Snse,

I have no problem with prayer. The United States is a judeo christian country based on those beliefs and a belief in God. The USA is the greatest country on the planet tolerant of people who want to believe almost anything.

But where should a society draw the line?

Men get to marry men or multiple wives. Women can marry themselves. Dogs get married. There is man boy love association... a gay czar implementing gay curriculum in public schools.

In Islamic countries, men rape children - it is commonplace because that is what Mohammad did. He married a child. He was a brutal murderer.

I'm sorry, but ANYONE who follows Islam and the pedophile murder who was Mohummad is NOT the same as those who follow a real religion like Christianity or others who preach tolerance, love of life and morality. MURDER is BAD in these religions. MURDER is OK and ACCEPTED as part of ISLAM.

    IT IS IN THERE BOOK!

Don't defend Islam to me, sir.

Islam needs to reform MOST of its OWN horrid principles. Go preach to THEM about their own behaviors please.

Let us know how that goes.

The next POTUS needs to be ANTI ISLAM.

    period

  10. Lisa,

You completely misunderstand my intent. Several people have drawn an association with radical Islam and Governor Rick Perry - your site here sensationalizes such a non-existent path. That assertion is ludicrous.

The Geller hit piece is hysteria bordering on insanity. The leap from a Texas university's association with a largely secular charitable organization to the sitting governor of Texas supporting Sharia is patently ridiculous.

I don't know how to say it any plainer. It is tantamount to the incident where a lunatic leftist press fantasized about who the birth mother of Trig was. Overly fertile minds who are too lazy to do research.

That did a great disservice to Sarah Palin just as this does a great disservice to Rick Perry.

  11. For me the jury is still out on Perry, Common Snse... Maybe Geller was over the top, but we're all allowed to ask questions and being in the "islam is the religion of peace" camp is a useless, friggin' ridiculous position...

There are others who don't like Perry, here's more from a C4P commenter: http://conservatives4palin.com/2011/08/10-things-i-hate-about-rick-perry.html

  12. Not a problem - vetting is of course okay. Though it still amazes me there are thoughtful people who object to Ronald Reagan - that's just the way the world spins. No one expected a Perry coronation. It's making thing up that drives me crazy. Probably unique to the blogoshere as if it was even remotely true - you wold be seeing it on MSLSD and the Communist News Network (CNN).

I went to the link provided - interesting though most of the issues (Gardasil and Texas-Trans Corridor chief among them) have been addressed in other venues and are examples of what I called laziness to not have discovered the other side.

Thanks for listening and the debate. From the look of your latest post - we've found something that we both can passionately agree with - Obama is a doofus. As they say - if we can believe 85% of the time - you are my friend.

  13. All politicians need to be accountable to the people in the USA - we.the.people GAVE them their jobs! They work for US...

That said, if Perry makes it all the way to be the GOP nominee vs Obla-bla-blather?... I'm for Perry all the way.

Let's see what the R primaries shake out, shall we? I'm sure we agree more than we disagree... thanks for the comments friend
