H1N1 hype got ya feeling sick?

Has non stop government warnings (propaganda? hype?) about 'swine flu' got ya feeling sick?

It might not even be a 'flu' ! (see my earlier post) Only somewhere around 1000 deaths have been attributed to H1N1. Over 50,000 die annually from "REGULAR" flu according to numbers from the CDC (from 2006):

Number of deaths for leading causes of death
  • Heart disease: 631,636
  • Cancer: 559,888
  • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 137,119
  • Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 124,583
  • Accidents (unintentional injuries): 121,599
  • Diabetes: 72,449
  • Alzheimer's disease: 72,432
  • Influenza and Pneumonia: 56,326
  • Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 45,344
  • Septicemia: 34,234

Over 1,000 deaths from "Swine Flu" thus far in 2009 have been reported in the U.S., and Mr. Obama has declared a "Swine Flu emergency." Of course, statistics reveal that around 30,000 people have died from the seasonal flu this year and he has declared no "seasonal flu emergency." With over 1,384 Coalition deaths since 2001, I for one would like to see him declare an "Afghanistan Emergency" and prescribe more troops to protect the brave souls in mortal danger there.

Even the dosages and recommendations keep changing to combat H1N1 - you want an unreliable vaccine? Put it another way: if scientists aren't 100% sure what the illness is, what exactly would be in the vaccine for "it"?

So this is a post for YOU with some remedies & information courtesy of excellent comments from citizenwell.wordpress.com:

Answer: First of all, please don’t panic. Your son is sick and can be helped with what Nature has given us.

One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a few of honey mixed in warm water. You can also try the one tablespoon of the vinegar with a couple tablespoons of honey mixed in a cup. Stir and take it with a spoon. This tastes pretty good, and I think he may take it. Do this every few hours for the best results.

Sambucol: If you have the liquid, the directions are on the bottle for ‘intensive use’-2 teaspoons 4X daily.

I don’t know too much about the zinc dosage, but please don’t overdo that-it can cause an upset stomach. If his stomach is upset, maybe you wanna skip the zinc, for now.

If you have Vitamin D3, I’d start giving him that, too. While there’s no set dosage, I’d give him several thousand I.U’s of it, and increase the dosage from there. If you don’t have any on hand, any pharmacy chain (CVS, Walgreen’s, Rite Aid, etc.) will have it; it comes either in gelcaps or tablets and you can get it in a 1,000 I.U. per-pill dose.

And by all means, keep giving him fluids-tea, water, Gatorade, anything he’ll take. Gotta keep him hydrated-that’s important!

If he wants to sleep, let him. He needs rest to battle this bug.

If he’s no better after all this, do consider getting him to the doc, or the E.D.
