We watched a good show today on Fox news by John Stossel who asks "What's so great about America?". Good topic for the 4th of July weekend...

He focuses on (a book of same title) and 6 key things:
- the spirit of entrepeneurship is alive and encouraged in America: anyone can prosper
- how America has learned from their mistakes and improved race relations is actually something to be very proud of
- America's military wins wars, but then leaves or helps the defeated country rebuild itself (see the "Marshall Act")
- American individuals are more charitable then in any other country
- individuals in America have the freedom to pursue any type of dream they want
- free speech is guaranteed by the first amendment: not so in many other countries
